If you need help now

Unbottle is an app, not a crisis service. If you are in danger or in a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

Stopping alcohol suddenly can be dangerous if you drink heavily every day, because withdrawal can cause seizures. Talk to a doctor before you make a big change. A medically supervised reduction is a normal route, and doctors have this conversation often.

Common questions

Do I have to quit completely?

No. Unbottle works either way. You can set a weekly drink budget that steps down at your own pace, or pick a quit date and count from there. You can switch between the two in Settings.

I drank. Have I lost my progress?

Your check-in streak counts honesty, not abstinence, so logging an honest "I drank" keeps it going. The health timeline is anchored to your last drink, so that one does restart, because that is what your body does.

How do I reset my data?

Settings → Reset Quit Date starts your count again. Settings → Restart Onboarding clears everything and rebuilds your plan from scratch. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.

Is my data private?

Your logs, journal and plan never leave your phone. There are no accounts and no server. Analytics and the subscription service do receive some data, and the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what.

How much does Unbottle cost?

Unbottle is a subscription app. The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial, and you see the price for your country before you confirm. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions. You can also get there from Settings → Membership inside Unbottle.

I already paid, but the app asks me to subscribe.

Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. If that doesn't work, email us with your receipt and we'll sort it out.

Where do the health facts come from?

Every factual claim in the app is sourced. Settings → Sources lists the research and public health guidance behind the health timeline, the daily program and the articles.

Getting more help

If drinking has become hard to steer on your own, that's worth taking to a doctor. It is not a failure of willpower. In the US, the SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-4357) is free, confidential and open around the clock. Elsewhere, your doctor is the right first stop.
